What does ‘sim free’ mean?

Sim free refers to phones without a contract or pay-as-you-go sim card i.e. the phone is sold without a sim card. The phone is not locked to any particular mobile phone network. Therefore, you can buy a new handset without having to commit to a minimum term contract with a network service provider. However, before you purchase the phone of your choice, please check to make sure that the frequency of your network is available on the phone you wish to purchase.

Do all phones work in the UK, EU and USA?

Networks in the UK use either GSM 900 or GSM1800. Most of our phones are therefore dual band and will work in the majority countries throughout the world.

In the US and Canada, a majority amount of their networks only use GSM 1900. We would recommend you purchase a Tri-band phone or a dual band handset that has GSM 1900 capability.
